Back in 2012 I thought I knew a lot about what was good for my body. I thought I had it all together when the subject was food and nutrition. Fat free, light, reduced fat, diet soda, sugar free, whole wheat, 100% juice… However I kept finding myself struggling with weight and overall health.
In the last 3 years being part of Haka Fitness I’ve learned so much. It’s been a slow process that started to explode in the last 6-9 months. More specific over the last 6 weeks where we had the amazing opportunity to immerse ourselves in information, interviews, blogs, recipes, articles, talks and other resources that targeted 6 different areas (nourishment, stress, sleep, enjoyment, exercise and environment). We tend to think (and believe) that being healthy is only about eating good and working out. The Tribal Life Transformation (this 6-week program) truly changed my life. I know I will never be perfect with balancing everything in life but the understanding of what really matters and what’s important, along with all the knowledge acquired, is such a valuable thing. My mind has shifted, I’ve made new habits and I feel really good about my fitness, wellness and health moving forward.
On this day in 2012 I was talking about a “healthy” dessert using fat free Greek yogurt and some artificial sweetener. 2016 is a totally different story…

New favorite dessert: 1/2 cup of fat-free Greek yogurt (11.5 g of protein BABY), 2 strawberries and 1/4 cup of Kashi Go Lean (Crunch) cereal. Add some Truvia and you are in guilt-free dessert heaven 🙂
