Oat Balls (aka Cookie Balls)
These Oat Balls are a great snack or quick breakfast that are popular in my house. We don't eat a ton of grains but we all seem to handle oats well and these "Cookie Balls" (as Colt calls them) are incredibly satisfying. Ingredients:
1.5 C Old Fashioned Oats
1/2 C Vanilla Whey Protein (2 scoops) Our Haka Whey Protein (pictured below) is perfect for this!
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
2 T Chia Seeds
2 T MCT Oil**
A couple dashes of Himalayan salt
1/2 C Nut Butter (check those ingredients)
2 T Raw Honey
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/3 C Raisins
2-4 T Water
You can mix these in a bowl with a simple hand mixer or I use the dough insert on my Ninja Nutri Bowl. Throw everything into the bowl except the water. Mix well. Add 1 T at a time of the water until all the ingredients come together. Roll these into balls to your liking.

Medium-Chain Triglycerides (MCT) are digested easily and sent directly to your liver, where they have a thermogenic effect and the ability to positively alter your metabolism. This is one reason why many people claim that MCTs, including coconut oil, are burned by the body for energy, or “fuel,” instead of being stored as fat.
